My friend and artist Eric Bond created this amazing "rap" alter ego called Time Traveler. For his song titled Deep Trouble, Vache Morte / L.b.B. Productions made a video that featured him and this amazing location that reminded me of Bespin at the end of Empire Strikes Back. So being invited to see the making of it, I took the adventage to bring my other eye called Holga and snap the beauty of the moment. I shot these photos kind of randomly in between shots that the video artist planned and I selected the 4 shots that really stood for me. I really like the angle of the 2nd one I think its my favourite one. The double shot of the third one was'nt planned, I snapped the shutter twice by accident and it magically created this image!

Factory in the sun

01/08
Camera type: Holga 120 CFN
Film type: Kodak Portra NC 400 ISO
This is probably one of my favourite photographs I've taken. I shot this one while I was shooting the Tour Bleu series. This is a night shot that to me, looks like a day shot in a another world. I love how the light when in the lens and created a vignette around the subject. I treated the colours to make it look more like it was daytime and I like the way the left corners turned green.

Le passe-muraille

10/08
Camera type: Nikon FM2 (35mm)
Film type: Agfa APX 100 ISO (pushed to 6400)
I went to this amazing concert called Le passe-muraille that was taking place at Sala Rossa on the 29th of October. It was actually a series of 2 nights but I could only make to the second night, unfortunately. The music was so good, I was overwhelmed by the quality of it. Eric Dorion played first, then Alexandre St-Onge, then the trio; Oren Ambarchi, Michel Langevin and Aun, followed by Edgar Olivier Charles then the duo Angel; Dirk Dresselhaus and Ilpo Vaisanen.
I took these photos even though it was probably the worse condition of light that ever shot in!! I had to double my time with the developer to be able to have something on the film, but the results were not that bad. The film is pretty grainy and not very detailed, but its better than I thought it would be as I was shooting it. Another challenge was to try to not move, I had no tripod to shoot, so it was kind of hard to stay still. I think the results would of been better if I used a 3200 ISO film, I will do that next time I shoot in a poor light situation to compare with the pushing method I did for this one...
The photos:
1. Alexandre St-Onge
2. Aun
3. Edgar Olivier Chrales
4. Erick Dorion
5. Oren Ambarchi + Aun
6. Oren Ambarchi + Aun
7. Angel

Camera type: Holga 120 CFN
Film type: Kodak Portra NC 400 ISO / Kodak E100 VS
Here is a Motel Sign Series that I took last June on my way to Rimouski, Québec. I wanted to do this kind of series for a long time and there it is. The first photo on top was shot with positive film, it was my first time trying out positive with the Holga. It turned out pretty well, I never would have thought that it would. I still prefer my good old Kodak Portra, The results and colours are far more close to what I like ahestelicly.

I dont know anything about cars!! I just know that its red, the location was perfect and its such a cliché, again, to photograph oldschool cars with the Holga. For some reason these kind of photographs really appeal to me!!! It's totaly an ahesthitic thing!!!

Wow!!! Already that long since I posted something on the blog!!! I guess I've been busy elsewhere and my computer died about a month ago. So I got a brand new Mac Pro 8 core.
I am just amazed by it, I guess its the first time I'm in love with a machine... The message of the photo clearly express what I feel about my new computer.
I was walking around during my lunch break at work and came across that street with the wardrobe and the graph and I was just amazed how things where just in place for me to snap that scene. I guess the person who did the graph clearly thought about something artful or whatnot but the other who put the furniture next to it, I assume that it wasent intentional from his part to create such a beauty. The old building with the gorgeous brick wall is the prettiest canvas for this art work and not to forget about the sun that is responsible for photography in general. Anyways, I'm happy to own that beauty in a permanent form today.

Camera type: Holga 120 CFN
Film type: Kodak TMAX 400 (expired)
I love taking pictures on a 35mm film with a medium format camera. The panorama and the sides of the negative gives the image a graphic quality. The light hitting the plastic lens is also beautiful in that picture. I love to walk on that street at night time, its a very peaceful scene.
